How to hang a handmade rug.
Just choose a heavier anchor size for the weight of your rug.
A heavy cotton casing may be sewn onto the back of the rug again this should be hand sewn if hanging a handmade or antique rug to form a tube through which the curtain rod may be inserted.
The second method of hanging an area rug on the wall involves the use of a curtain rod.
If your rug is thick and very heavy this method may not be the best way to go.
If you are attaching the hooks to studs you may need to sew multiple canvas strips into the back of your rug leaving a small exposed space for the rod to rest on the hook since the hooks may not be at the end of the rod.
Based on scale and proportion of rug and wall also decide proper orientation.
Repeat steps going across to the other end of the rug.
Use measuring tape to determine the width and length of rug as well as the available wall space along which it will hang.
We recommend that you still clean your hanging rug every few months using a vacuum attachment.
The rug should slip easily onto the hooks and rest securely on the wall.
It can always get dusty on the wall.
Stay away from sticky adhesives.
Mine was thin and weighed around 5 10 lbs.
