Once a couple of strands are stuck together the knot can become bigger and harder to remove.
How to get matted knots out of hair.
If you have tight knots that don t come out easily leave them for the moment.
To untangle severely matted hair start by applying a deep conditioner or a detangling spray to your damp hair.
So how do you get matted hair off a dog without cutting it.
You use a wet brush to get the top coat and then a rake tool to get out the deep matted hair.
These emollients also make it easy to untangle hair fast and painlessly.
A knot happens when two strands of hair wrap around each other and become intertwined.
Comb your hair slowly and find the areas.
Go back to them and gently poke pull and pinch at them with your fingers trying to loosen them gently.
Next use a wide toothed comb to brush the ends of your hair slowly working upward to release the knots.
After waiting several minutes gently untangle the easiest knots with your fingers.
Use your fingers to detangle minor knots loosen larger tangles and separate mats into smaller more manageable pieces.
The first tool to try in removing tangles is conveniently located at the end of each of your arms.
Get the hairbrush with larger teeth and comb hair for a few minutes.
Get big knots out in the shower itself.
It may seem cumbersome but the best time to detangle wet matted hair is in the shower itself.
Step 4 comb your hair.
Work out the tangles with your fingers.
Use hair clips to hold the knotted area.
Take the matted section in hand and direct the scissors with the point toward the scalp and snip the matted hair approximately halfway through the mat.
When you have untangeled most of the hair except for the most stubborn knots they should have had enough time to soak.

Make sure they are well oiled.
The acid in this rinse helps to balance out the ph of your hair and can also act as a conditioner that helps when you try to work a knot out of your hair.
To get rid of tangles and knots in your hair combine two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar and two cups of water to create a natural hair rinse.
Do not be hurry there when you are finding the hair knots.
Sometimes this is sufficient to release the matted hair.
