How to make a large braided rug.
You can check to see how big the rug will be with this long of a braid by coiling it together in a circle.
To make a braided rug you ll need the following supplies.
Attach new strips to the old ones making sure to overlap the last two inches.
Start by cutting a small strip on the end of the sheet lengthwise not across.
Old clothing or fabric enough for you to cut 30 yards of 1 inch strips scissors a ruler a pencil a safety pin straight pins a sewing needle and some thread.
You can rip right down the sheet to make your strips without cutting and they will stay the same width.
Braid the strips until you reach the length of the rug you want to make.
Lay down the same length braids side by side pin them together and finally sew them to keep them in place.

I made mine about 1 1 2 inches wide but yours can vary depending on how tightly braided you want your rug to be.
