In theory that invite window shows those your steam friends who have the killing floor 2 and online.

After matchmaking click on a private match where it says join in game progress.

This means that the cross platform support for killing floor 2 is limited to steam and epic games.
The friends tab doens t work properly.
Make sure you re both added friends on epic games too btw.

Now on the group menu you should have an option to add friends from different platforms if they re online on epic games they should show up.

If they have then maybe they did not accept your invitation.
You see it on the server is not responding window enter multiplayer and internet games tab.
When a friend is in a game and you get the server is not responding message then copy the ip number that you see of that server.
Open 127 0 0 1 it will force killing floor to load that server.
If that doesnt work and it fails to join a friend steam will say server is no responding.
We got to level 8 10 in a match before the server disconnected us.
