Locate the 1 or 2 hex bolts connected to the metal clamp directly underneath your saddle.
How to install a floor saddle.
Use a measuring tape for this.
If your saddle has a second bolt unscrew it evenly with the first one so you don t strip the threading.
Fit a hex wrench into the bolt and turn it counterclockwise by 2 3 rotations.
Measure the distance between the bottom of the door and the underlying floor.
Use your 1 4 inch notched trowel to spread an even layer of thinset in the area where you will be installing your threshold.
Step 2 preparing door saddle installation surface.
In addition use the flat side of your trowel to skim coat the back of your marble threshold with an even layer of thinset.
Tap one 1 2 inch oak plug into.
Installing half saddle transitions is easier as well requiring little more than nails hammer and ahacksaw.
Unscrew the clamp bolts on the bottom of the saddle.
Also measure the width of the door.
Be sure to take three measurements before you cut.
Leave a 1 inch gap between the flooring materials if you are installing a saddle that includes a track.
Place a drop of glue into each countersunk hole.
The new door saddle strip has to be cut using these measurements.
If your saddle doesn t include a track you can butt the two flooring materials against each.
