How to frame a shed floor.
A shed is a necessity for any backyard where you want to maximize your storage.
Begin at the corners and level the total structure.
After building the frame for the shed floor we recommend you to place them on top of several 4 4 skids.
Make sure the shed floor is completely level.
Add dirt under the frame where needed.
The piers will allow you to string support beams beneath the floor of the shed.
Level the ground if necessary and install deck piers along a grid to support the shed.
If you live in an exceptionally wet area or have a major termite problem you might want to use pressure treated wood for the entire floor including the skids the floor joists and the plywood sheeting.
You may use flat stones or similar to get it level too.
Check out the following 3dmodel of a typical shed floor with one anchor in each corner and blocking in between the anchors and also all along the middle 4x4 support skids.
In the example design the piers are spaced 6 feet 1 8 m apart in one direction and 4 feet 1 2 m apart in the other for a total grid area of 12 x 8 feet.
I used pieces of wood that were left over from cutting the studs for leveling.
